Desktop app

How squad-chat looks in the Claude Code desktop app, drawn with the app's own pieces.

In the Claude Code desktop app (2.1.292 or newer), the chat and every room are drawn with the app’s own pieces: drawings, rounded pills and its buttons, in place of the terminal’s glyphs. Everything works the same, and so do the commands.

  • Room icons for the built-in rooms. + lists the ones without a tab and adds one.
  • Your chats on a line of their own. + join asks for a room’s name, then its passcode.

Bubbles like a phone’s, yours on the right, friends as chips. The chat keeps its height and scrolls on its own: ▲ shows older messages, ↓ N newer goes back down.

With the pane closed, the line above the prompt is a capsule of small drawings, one per figure, with a card on hover. ‹ and › switch rooms, as /chat band <room> does. Each room draws its own (the figures here are made up):

Each room has a body made for the app. A few of the differences:

Room On the desktop
Usage Spend as three tiles, subagent counts set large
Git A commit graph like Fork’s, links that open
Agents Each session on one line, a ring spinning while it works
Pet A vector Clawd that moves, and strolls by the input box
Weather A tile per city, a line for 24 hours, the sun’s arc
Snippets Code blocks with Copy, Share and Delete

Built-in rooms has a picture of each.
